Writing Accountability - Day 29

Had my first zero day of the month yesterday, hence the lack of a post. Really bummed about losing an entire weekend day of writing, but a friend needed me, and sometimes real life happens. I'm now about 3.5k behind schedule, and I doubt I'll be able to make all of it up today, but hoping to make a dent in it at the very least.

I'm about to head into hd_writers srsbzns Chatzy chat room, if anybody is around and wants to join me for some sprints. I should be there for a few hours!

New Words Written: 595 (words from the 27th)
Total Words So Far: 43,257

Monthly Goals: draft & finish gift!fic, claim & complete fic for hp_kinkfest, claim & draft hp_goldenage, claim & start dracotops_harry, Auror Training Fic!

Oh no, but you can still make it! Good luck with words today! I've had a few 0 days this month, they were rough but necessary. Yesterday was my best day all month with 4500 words that got me over 40k, but today I had to fight for every one of my words. I think I did 1200 today? I'm on mobile, so I don't have the exact count on hand. My total for the month now is at 45160, though, so the finish line is in sight. I have no idea if I can manage 5k over the next two days, but I'll try! I worked on DTH yesterday and today. Mostly what I've learned from this challenge is that 50k is doable, but not really realistic for me. Some days the muse was there and the words poured out, but then others I struggled to get words down that I wasn't totally satisfied with.

Yes, all of this basically! I also have 5k left for the next two days, which will be a bit of stretch, especially considering I'm sick, but I'm going to try! And yeah, I think 50k is possible, but not realistic. I feel like I was always going for where I thought I could get the most words for my buck, instead of taking the time to edit and revise and fine-tune, which is totally part of my normal process.

Yessss exactly that! I did the same thing, too. And I still haven't touched the two WIP outlines I said I wanted to spend time plotting this month. I ignored them in favor of working on fest claims and gift fics, mostly because I knew they would increase the word count since one shots are easier to work on than plotty things. I totally commend you for managing to plot and work on your ATF fic this month!

5k is definitely feeling like a huge stretch today, lol. I've mostly just been reading back through scenes to edit, so I've only managed 160 words so far today. It feels like another day that's going to take me a long time to get into the groove.

Also, oh no, I hope you feel better soon! Get some rest!
