YOU GUYS! Prompting has opened over at hp_nextgen_fest and I AM SO EXCITE. This is always such a fun fest, and coming up with awesome prompts is definitely part of that fun. Any genre, any pairing goes (including cross gen!) as long as at least one of the people in the main pairing/focus of the fic is a HP Next Gen character. PROMPTING POST

Reveals have just gone up over at hp_nextgen_fest, so it's time to claim my contribution. This may shock many of you, but I only wrote one fic this year, and it wasn't even James Sirius/Teddy! *gasp*

Like everybody and their mother, I wrote Albus Severus/Scorpius, but, in my defense, it's a fic I've been meaning to write since last year's fest. The wonderful this_bloody_cat actually gave me the idea during one of our chats while we were restarting the comm, and it sort of percolated and grew in the back of my mind until I could not ignore it any longer. Scorpius is not a character I generally feel particularly drawn to, so it was fun to get inside of his head for a little while. :)

Summary: Scorpius has been in love with James Sirius Potter for years to no avail, but that's all about to change, with a little help from a totally legal wish-fulfillment ritual. Now he just needs to get Albus on board with his plan, because Scorpius may be in love with James, but it's Albus he can't live without. Which is a totally normal thought to have about your best mate, right?
Author's Notes: Very loosely inspired by the movie Bedazzled, which is a really fun movie, and I totally recommend. I apologise if the magical mechanics in this one seem a little hand-wavy. I did my best, but it turns out magical wish-fulfilling rituals are kind of a bitch to nail down.

Author's Note: Most of you are aware that James/Teddy is my next gen OTP. Which is why it was so weird when, one day while I was driving to work, this little plot bunny popped into my head. I'm still not 100% pleased with everything here, and I'm not sure I totally captured the nuanced feelings of James and Victoire as well as I wanted to, but I'm pretty pleased with it overall.

Author's Notes: While I was catching up on Season 3 of Orange is the New Black, I was very...affected by the scene of Pennsatucky and her dreamy boyfriend, who took it upon himself to show her how good sex could be. I have a huge thing for first times, and sexual exploration, and I knew I wanted to write some kind of ficlet with that sort of feel. The problem is, I feel like it kind be kind of difficult to get there with slash. I mean you can, but it's a lot more work to make it believable. I think that's why I like the occasional "temporarily turned into a girl" trope. because we can get that new exploration, while still keeping things slashy :D

Anyways, I decided I should write some het, and I knew I wanted those protective/teacher-y vibes from the guy, so I figured, might as well write a sibcest ship. :) So yeah, I had a lot of fun with this one. I was kind of bummed I didn't manage to work any oral sex in, because that's my favorite. But it didn't seem to fit into this one. Maybe I'll write a sequel. :) I've also been playing with this idea of a gay Albus showing not-quite-as-straight-as-he-thought James about the joys of anal fingering, and I've been seriously considering putting it into this verse. Because James needs to be fucking everybody all the time. (And then there can be a Pottercest threesome and...I may have a problem...)

I ended up writing three fics for hp_nextgen_fest (and that was me restraining myself), and since reveals went up today, I'll go ahead and start be claiming this one.

This was a fic I really wrote for myself, and seeing as how it isn't a crazy popular pairing, and it's over 25k words, I wasn't expecting many people to give this one a chance. So I just want to thank everybody who read this and left such lovely comments and even recced it. I can't tell you how much it meant to see my first longer fic have such a great reception. <3

Popping in to remind y'all that hp_nextgen_fest has finished posting and the anonymous masterlist can be found here. Reveals will be up on Monday, so there is still some time to catch up on any of the submissions you may have missed. :D

Prompting is open at hprare_cliche. I'm all about the rare pair love (when I'm not obsessing over H/D) and there's a cap of five prompts per person so everybody should drop by and leave some prompts!

Prompting is also open at hp_goldenage. This one is a completely open pairing fest, with a limit of 7 prompts. Definitely a life stage that doesn't get nearly as much love and makes for some fun and creative prompts!

Finally, posting is still happening over at hp_nextgen_fest. People seem to be much busier this week, but we're continuing to post some really amazing stuff. And most of works are fairly short, so super easy to squeeze one in on a lunch break or while you're procrastinating on NaNo ;)

I've had a killer headache and terrible cramps all week, so I'm going to go and curl up under my desk now. Best of luck writing to all of you who are working on things, especially our lovely hd_erised participants, who I know will be awesome and submit by their extension dates, because they care about the mods' emotional well being and don't want me to develop an ulcer. ;)

Posting has started over at hp_nextgen_fest!

The round-up for week one has just gone up, so now would be an excellent time to look through and catch up on all of this week's amazing submissions! We've got gen, we've got het, we've got femslash, and cross gen, and sibcest, and basically just a lot of awesome.

It's been going super great so far, and we've been getting a decent amount of love and support and it makes me really happy to see everybody else loving Next Gen as much as me! <3
