My entry for the February hpfemslash-minifest! This month's trope was "Coffee Shop AU" which is one of my least favorite tropes, particularly in HP. I figured I'd be skipping this one, but then I had a little plot bunny for a smutty one-shot. Given the time constraints, and the fact that I'm so much more familiar with cafes and universities in the USA, I decided to just commit and make this a full on AU. I haven't talked about it too much here, but I signed up this year for the Merlin aftercamlann big bang. I've had this Arthur/Merlin Modern AU fic idea in my head since last year, but it's not my primary fandom and I wasn't sure I'd ever actually finish it. But that's one of the reasons I love fests, because they give you deadlines and motivation! :D

This is the longest non-HP fic I've written, and I had a lot of fun playing with two very different characters. I've also been wanting to write a BDSM fic that goes beyond just some light D/s, and overall I'm really pleased with out it came out. Especially because I just *barely* squeaked in over the word count minimum... :D

I also got the most AMAZING artist, karovie! This was the first time anybody's ever created art based on something I've written, and it was a beyond cool experience. I totally lucked out, and it was great working with her. :D

I'm not sure these *technically* count as Rectober recs, since I'm not including *why* I'm reccing them. But I needed to repost my HP art rec posts, because it was starting to get too big for LJ to handle, and I figured Rectober would be as good a time as any to do that.

So here, have a ton of H/D art recs! These span from ~2007 to last week, and are some of my most favorite pieces of art for the pairing that I've seen around.
