So I've been reading the Percy Jackson books lately and they are really good! I put them off for a long time because I knew they were middle-grade books, and I thought they'd be boring, but I've really enjoyed them. I love mythology and the way it's been modernized in the series is pretty fun. I've finished the first series, and I am about to start the next set, so I figured I'd make a rec post.

THOUGH, can I just say that it's insane how little awesome Luke/Percy fic there is? Because there is so much subtext there to play around with it's ridiculous. How many times does Percy need to mention how attractive Luke is? I mean, we get it, he's hot.

I recently finished the Heroes of Olympus Series by Rick Riordan (sequel series to Percy Jackson and Olympians), It's super awesome. I find Greek mythology fascinating, so I enjoyed the clever modernization, and the books are fast-paced, easy reads, with some great characters.

One thing that I was especially impressed with, was the diversity and representation. Out of the nine main characters in the series (the characters that we get POVs for), there are four girls/five guys, a canonically gay character, and the majority (five characters) are not white. And their diversity and sexuality and gender and culture and backgrounds are important to the story. It just makes me really happy. especially because it's geared towards a younger audience and I just really love that kids can read these awesome characters and see themselves. Totally recommend!

Anyways, I really enjoyed the series, so the first thing I did was go and look for porn.
