The always lovely alisanne post some DD ruminations which totally inspired me to take a think on my own participation in the daily_deviant community.

I haven't been a member for all that long now--I officially joined in January 2016--and when I was invited, I told myself that, for as long as I could, I would try and write a different pairing every month (and for the major anon fests). So far, I'm mostly kept that promise. Technically, this past month, I had a repeat pairing with James Sirius/Teddy, but considering the fic also included H/D, I'm considering it different enough to count. ;)

Part of what I LOVE about daily_deviant is the opportunity for me to really stretch my writing muscles. I try and use the space to really push myself and try out different pairings and kinks (of course) but also new styles or POVs or genres. I thought I'd list out some of my "firsts" below. :D

First time writing a pairing featuring an inanimate object: Take a Little Ride (Sirius/Motorcycle)

First time writing a threesome: Give In, Don't Fight It (Albus/James/Teddy)

First time writing femslash that wasn't just a PWP: the thrill of under you me (Cho/Lily Luna)

First time writing outsider (and child) POV: In Plain Sight (Ron/Victoire, POV Hugo)

First time writing in first person: Drunk on the Scent of Your Skin (Draco/Remus)

First time writing creature!fic: Bite to Break Skin (Draco/Theo)

First time writing about two main pairings and with more than two POVs in the same fic: Switch (James Sirius/Teddy and Draco/Harry) [not yet on AO3]

Woo! That was fun. I just love this comm SO MUCH! I was working on my contribution for August yesterday and I am feeling pretty excited about it. :)
