What I'm Reading

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling
Damn this book is so good! Hoping to do a wrap-up post on it if I can summon the energy..

Spooky Business (The Spectral Files, #3) by S.E. Harmon
Enjoyable installment in this series! I really enjoy this author and this series just works for me!

The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women by Kate Moore
Another rec from [personal profile] kelly_chambliss and I really enjoyed! Super fascinating book and covering an event I had never heard about before.

Current non-fiction read.

The Awakening Land Trilogy by Conrad Richter
Okay, for real this time, I'm reading this book this week! I need to read it in September....

Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer
Don't @ me okay, I couldn't resist! I totally read the leaked version on her site 10+ years ago and was mega bummed she never finished, so I'm lowkey excited she finally finished it. Giving me a lot of nostalgic feels and might prompt a full series reread, and I don't even care.

What do you think you’ll read next?

After Felix (Close Proximity #3) by Lily Morton
I love this author and this series has been great so far, but I've been dragging my feet a bit with this book as the theme isn't my favorite. Hopefully I'll still enjoy!

Noble Metals by L.A. Witt
This author is coming out with a new book soon so I'll probably read the current one I have by them on my KU so I can borrow that one next!

Antiracist Baby by Ibram X. Kendi
This is a children's book by an author I love and though I have no children, nor plans for children, I have A LOT of friends who are pregnant and this seems like the kind of book that might be useful down the line for raising anti-racist children, so I wanted to give it a read before subtly gifting it to people, LOL.

Fanfic:
-No Greater Victory by [archiveofourown.org profile] dicta-contrion (Harry Potter, Drarry)
-Blood by [archiveofourown.org profile] bloodmakesnoise(Supernatural, Wincest)

Glad you enjoyed Radium Girls! It's a painful read in many places, and I had several quibbles with the author's writing style/diction, but it's a powerful story well told.

Thanks again for the rec! Agreed on the diction/style quibbles, but I really appreciated the focus on the girls and the impact it had on their lives/the lives of those who cared for them!
