What did you recently finish reading?

Debt: The First 5,000 Years by David Graeber
This was fascinating. Quite a broad scope and the author covers a lot of ground--it felt like any one of his chapters could have made for their own books but it certainly gave me a lot to think about.

The Yearling by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings
Pulitzer Prize Winner read that *wasn't* about war! Hooray! Interesting in that it was essentially YA before that was a real genre--IDK that it would have been considered for the PP today, but I actually really enjoyed it.

Girls of Riyadh by Rajaa Alsanea
Finished this audiobook as part of my  Around the World Challengefor Saudi Arabia and I thought it was a really fun book! I'm really glad I picked this one for SA.

The Seas by Samantha Hunt
A friend recommended this for some cool magical realism, which is a genre we both love, and this was really, really well done.

Under the Udala Trees by Chinelo Okparanta
Part of Around the World Challengefor Nigeria which I was extra excited about for the queer rep. I didn't love this one as much as I expected but it was very good.

I really enjoyed the Inheritance Cycle by this author back in the day (I'm actually planning a reread soon!) so I'm looking forward to reading this, which I believe is essentially his first proper novel since that series ended about 10 years ago...
