I hit my goal! Honestly given how little I managed to write in the first third of the month, I had a feeling 15k was beyond my reach, but somehow I made it happen! Certainly not a stunning amount of words, but I hit my goal, so I'm happy.

JANUARY ROUND-UP

• Wincest Season 7 Coda: sent to & got back from beta, did final read-through, and posted! You can read it here.


• Wincest 5+1: read through a few of the scenes, made light edits, & sent to beta.
 

• Wincest Weed!Fic: did a read-through, made some edits, and got back from beta!
 

• Wincest Sex Pollen: outlined and wrote initial draft.


• Wincest Shotgunning Fic: outlined and wrote initial draft.


• Wincest Does New Mexico: started drafting. I'd guess I'm somewhere between half and two-thirds finished with the first draft.


• SamJack Fic: outlined and started drafting. Same as above, probably about half to two-thirds finished.


• Wincest Panty!Kink: wrote a couple of paragraphs.


• Dream!Fic - HP: finished rough draft!


• Possible 2022 hp-kinktober: did a bit of research and wrote a few paragraphs.


• Monster Daddy Sam Collab: read through outline, made some light edits, and wrote half a scene.

FEBRUARY GOALS

February Word Count Goal: 15,000

I feel like I'm back in a decent writing groove, and this feels doable. I've got a good amount of projects on and lots of stuff I'm excited about, so I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I overshoot this, but I'd rather go over than under so I'll keep it at 15k and see what happens!

February Fics to Focus On

• Wincest Sex Pollen: go through initial edits.


• Wincest Shotgunning Fic: go through initial edits and send to beta.


• Wincest Weed!Fic: go through beta edits, do final read-through, and post!


• Wincest Does New Mexico: I'd love to finish the rough draft this month! It's pretty dialogue-heavy, which means it's gonna require even more work on edits, so I'd like to get the draft done so I can start that work!


• SamJack Fic: planning to finish the first draft this month. My S14 rewatch mentioned below is on hold until I do, so it's top priority for February.


• Wincest Season Codas: lowkey aiming to write one episode-specific coda/missing scene for every season, and so far I'm at 7/15. I'm currently planning a S14 rewatch in February, so hopefully something will grab me!


• Dream!Fic - HP: go through initial edits.


• Something HP: I'd love to write some kind of HP fic for one of the various mini-fests happening. There's hpdarkarts's My Bloody Valentine's Fest, hpfemslash-minifest's February prompt of "Love Songs", and kinkuary's list of kinks (though this year it's multi-fandom!) to name a few. HP muse has been running on empty for a bit, but I'm hoping some kind of flash of inspo will hit.

Upcoming Fics / Stuff on the back-burner

• Fics Awaiting Beta: I've got several fics awaiting beta Vampire!Wincest, A Relationship Unravels - HP, & Wincest 5+1. I might get one of these back in February, in which case I'll pull it into the month, but otherwise they are on the back-burner until their triumphant return to my inbox!


• Possible 2022 Kinktober fic: still a year away, but never too early to plan! I'll possibly pull this into February and poke at it, but it's lower priority at the moment so TBH.


• Drarry Long!Fic: also moved to the backburner as I think I don't have the spoons to work on such a long project right now with everything else on.


• Wincest Size!Kink: not a high priority, but something to come back to at some point.


• Wincest Panty!Kink: I'm a good 2/3 of the way done with this one but I'm feeling a little blocked so I'm setting it aside for now. Though I reserve the right to pick it up in Feb if I become inspired again!


• Sterek!AU: I think I might need to just accept that this is just not happening right now. I've got it outlined but I need to rewatch the movie inspiration to refine, and I've just not been in the mood.


• Taking Chances Sequel: on indefinite hiatus. I've got several pages worth of ideas for the sequel, but it's in no cohesive plot form, and IDK if it'll ever come to life.


• Pile O' Plot Bunnies: I currently have a list of over 20 concrete plot bunny ideas. Some of things I'll try and incorporate into fests or daily deviant themes. Some are sequels or codas to existing fics of mine. There are a couple of ideas here that I REALLY want to write at some point, so I'm always keeping an eye out for a good opportunity to prioritize one of my ideas.
